Management and staff from Ballyvesey Recycling went on a sponsored 5 mile Midnight Walk around Belfast on Friday 30th May to raise funds for the Belfast Hospice. All participants (about 300 in total) were asked to wear something purple so to get into the spirit of the event, all Ballyvesey Recycling walkers wore purple wigs – an improvement of looks for more than one apparently!
They raised a healthy £700 and even though the walk finished about 1.15 in the morning, every one of the loyal staff appeared for work at 7.00am on Saturday morning. Loyalty above and beyond the call of duty.
MD Dennis Monaghan said “It was good fun and for a worthwhile cause. Belfast City Centre at midnight on a Friday is an interesting place to see. Thankfully all our soldiers returned safely”.
