Safe and comfortable
In the vast majority of new models, the LF 2016 edition is delivered with the latest security and comfort systems as standard. ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) ensures that the distance to the vehicle in front remains within the set limits. FCW (Forward Collision Warning), in combination with AEBS (Advanced Emergency Braking System), warns the driver if there is a risk of collision and automatically slows the vehicle down in an emergency.
And LDWS (Lane Departure Warning System) gives a signal if the truck is about to switch lanes. More comfort for the driver and, most importantly, additional safety.
Efficient
Thanks to improved heat and air management and optimised software, the 4.5-litre PACCAR PX-5 engine (112 kW/152 hp – 157 kW/213 hp) is up to 5% more efficient. Models with the 6.7-litre PACCAR PX-7 engine (164 kW/223 hp – 231 kW/314 hp) now feature an automated 12 speed AS Tronic gearbox allowing combined weights of up to 32 tonnes. And more payload per journey means more efficiency.
Communicative
The chassis and superstructure now communicate better with each other, thanks to systems such as the CAN bus. This provides the driver with even more options for controlling the superstructure from within the cabin.
Signals from the superstructure are visible and configurable on the dashboard display. The LF 2016 edition can now also automatically lower the air suspension when the PTO is switched on. This provides greater stability when emptying a tipper, for example.
Aerodynamic
A completely new aerodynamic package* has been developed for the LF 2016 edition with Day Cab. The new design also features fenders and a roof deflector that connect together perfectly. Providing 4% lower fuel consumption, depending on the application. Optimum aerodynamics for low operational costs.
