ICT – Project Forge Update

Welcome to the first update from Project FORGE for the Ballyvesey Corporate newsletter, and best wishes to you all for a Happy New Year from the project team !

Project FORGE is a business transformation programme that will introduce a new group-wide HR/Payroll platform called SAP SuccessFactors. The programme is already in-flight and making steady progress in several areas which will become increasingly visible to you over the coming months…

People Central (Core HR) – this workstream is about consolidating core HR data into a single system, whilst retaining boundaries between the various businesses within the Group. The initial pilot in Midland Truck and Van Limited has now completed and rollout is proceeding across the group with InterCounty Truck and Van Limited being the next business unit to launch. Every other business unit is currently involved in the data gathering and as the data is submitted to the project, we will work towards launching People Central with the individual business units. Keep a look out for further communications about this in the coming weeks.

People Pay – the project has spent time consolidating and simplifying the foundational business data and our delivery partner will shortly be demonstrating the solution, based on our data. In parallel with this, we are preparing for formal testing and looking ahead to payroll comparison testing. Providing this is successful, then we will launch into the business units. (Please be assured that we will not be changing your pay itself, only changing the system that actually pays you.)

People Recruitment – we have also been working to create a ‘pilot’ for the Recruitment module and this is currently being evaluated in our test system. The Recruitment module seeks to make improvements to our recruiting, making it digital and easier to use.

Time Capture – “time worked” is captured in a variety of ways across the various business units for numerous reasons. This workstream is seeking to bring some standardisation in capture and content across all businesses. With a variety of current practices, this is one of the more complicated pieces of work within Project FORGE.

Without doubt, this is a complex ‘change’ programme and there is a continuous cycle of changes for many if not all of us over the coming months and beyond.

2023 promises to be a busy year!
