For Birds Transport & Logistics Managing Director
Last week saw a very busy milestone for John Hawksworth, Managing Director of Birds Transport & Logistics, 100 days in this position has given him time to implement and develop a variety of areas within the business.
Firstly there have been a number of changes within the company’s Management Team (pictured), they now have a secure and robust structure designed to encourage the growth of the business. Tony Galawan is now General Manager – Depot Operations, supported by Depot Managers Pete Stacey (Oldbury), Drew Elliott (Ballyearl), Tony Dally (Heywood) and Robert Smith (Sittingbourne). Ian Roberts is now General Manager – Sales & Marketing and they are now busily addressing their sales structure on a National and Regional basis. Neil Childs has recently been confirmed as Finance Manager.
Enhancing their fleet – Birds Transport & Logistics have now placed orders for the following; 50 curtainsider trailers, 6 urban trailers, 27 artic units and 7 rigid curtainsiders all of which will be arriving in the 4th quarter of 2014. In addition they are adding to the fleet, in the next couple of months, 9 left hand drive trucks for their European operation.
Enhancing their brand – the flags are flying once again at Oldbury, new signs are on order to replace the old Birds Groupage ones and a new website is being developed to rejuvenate Internet presence along with an ever increasing social media campaign on LinkedIn.
